I was born and raised in the Ruhrgebiet and moved to Berlin nine years ago, where I still live today. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by looking through a viewfinder - whether it was a telescope, my parents’ old camera, or a pair of binoculars, I loved seeing the world from a new perspective. My journey into filmmaking started with roots in basketball and music production, which eventually led me to editing and directing. Now, I split my time between Berlin, Cape Town, Istanbul & Cairo.
What drives me the most in my work as a directing dp is my passion for social projects. These projects allow me to form meaningful connections with people, and I find it deeply rewarding to discover parallels in our experiences. Building these relationships helps me tell stories that feel authentic and impactful, and that personal connection is something I always aim to bring to the forefront in my work. For me, it's about much more than just creating a film - it's about understanding and portraying the humanity behind every story.
